Attorney Stephanie M. Brinkley will present on “ARTful Parenting Through Gestational Surrrogacy” to the South Carolina Inn of Court on Friday, April 28, 2023. Gestational Surrogacy, a form of assisted reproduction technology (ART), has opened a door of possibilities for fertility-challenged individuals. From state to state, the legal landscape is constantly changing in favor of protecting parental rights and promoting family values. South Carolina family courts have also developed a pathway to parentage. An Order of Parentage from the family court will ensure the correct parents are listed on the birth certificate, the parents’ legal rights are secure, and the best interest of the child is preserved.
